The Psychiatric Nurse position coordinates service systems and operations related to the medical care of participants consistent with physicians’ orders and standard nursing practices. Selected candidates will provide technical expertise, clinical support and training to non-medical program staff.
Some of the duties include:
Assist team members in the coordination of behavioral and physical health care needs of service participants.
Complete health and bio-psychosocial assessments for every active participant.
Maintain a record of medical history and on-going medical and treatment records. Service documentation must be submitted in a timely fashion.
Consult with team members regarding development and implementation of the health care needs and goals.
Coordinate with team members routine medical, vision, lab and dental appointments. Ensure a mechanism for reporting and follow-up results.
Consult with community agencies and families to maintain coordination in the treatment process.
Monitor participant's medication. Coordinate the administration of injections, as needed.
Participate in discharge planning for participants from acute or extended care facilities to provide continuity of medical and psychiatric care.

PA licensed RN and at least one year experience working in community nursing and mental health. BSN preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric, clinical and psychosocial rehabilitation practices and understanding of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model of service.
Must be able to communicate both verbally and in written form with every level of the behavioral health system and maintain effective professional relationships with associates in the Agency/community at large.
Very strong organization and analytical skills.
Computer skills in word processing, electronic health record systems.
Acceptable criminal history clearances and a valid driver’s license.
Must be available for local travel; valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
