Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Training and Consultation Specialist for the Behavioral Research and Training Institute at Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care.
The Training and Consultation Specialist provides basic and advanced level training and consultation services, curriculum development, and technical assistance to support the operation and the mission of the Division of Children’s Behavioral Health Services- Training and Technical Assistance, the University and University Behavioral HealthCare. Travels to agencies and other designated regional locations throughout the state to provide training, technical assistance and consultation.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provides effective and efficient overall management and supervision of designated project areas.
Develops, delivers, and monitors training programs and activities that promote competence within the various components of the Division of Child Behavioral Health Services – Training and Technical Assistance.
Spends a minimum of 60% percent of time in the field in direct contact with provider agencies, which includes travel to agencies around the state, and with appropriate community representatives.
Maintains active linkage with other UBHC and Rutgers' activities relevant to delegated project areas to ensure maximum interchange of information and utilization of resources.
Provides timely, advanced level written assessments, work plans, project reports, and proposals relevant to delegated project activities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ph.D., Psy.D. or Ed.D. in a mental health discipline plus one (1) year of experience in consultation or training.
Applicants with a Master's Degree are required to have an additional two (2) years of related experience.
Applicants with a Bachelor's Degree are required to have four (4) years of experience.
Appointee will be required to possess a valid driver's license as the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position and to travel to different sites.
Knowledge and experience working with families and children duly diagnosed with developmental disabilities and mental health needs.
