Aldea Children and Family Services programs include:
Foster Care and Adoption Services - treatment foster care, intensive services foster care, and adoption services.
Mental Health Services – individual counseling, family counseling, home based services, early intervention and support.
Youth Drug/Alcohol Treatment and Prevention - A drug and alcohol treatment program for youth and school based prevention services.
Supported Living Services – Adults with developmental disabilities receive support services to live independently.
Adapt – School based day treatment program for high school students.
Early Detection of Psychosis - Offering early detection, prevention and treatment for people who have psychosis or at-risk.

Reporting to the board of directors, the Executive Director provides leadership and direction around all aspects of organization. In conjunction with the board of directors, the Executive Director sets the strategic plan for the organization and oversees the day to day operations. Also, in conjunction with Development staff, the Executive Director participates in fundraising activities to garner financial resources to support the mission. The Executive Director presents a positive image of the organization to clients, visitors, contractors, donors and members of the community.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leadership: Articulate both short and long-term vision and strategic direction of Aldea programs, services and activities; develop strategic and operational plans with the Board and staff; set clear goals, objectives and measures that drive organizational performance.
Fiscal: In conjunction with the CFO, oversee the financial sustainability of the Organization. Direct development of the budget, manage within the budget, and keep the Board regularly informed of the financial status of the organization; understand and implement risk management controls for financial, personnel, and property risks.
Fundraising:Develop effective relationships with individuals, foundations, corporations, and other sources of funds; represent Aldea to prospective and current major funding sources.
Management and Staff Development: Lead senior management staff to strengthen and support the programs, finances and operational goals of Aldea; proactively develop staff to ensure a nurturing, culturally competent environment for all.
Program and Service Delivery: Oversee design, promotion, delivery, assessment, compliance, and quality of programs and services; ensure that all programs consistently deliver innovative, high-quality services that are aligned with the mission and values of Aldea and that will readily meet the changing needs of clients; ensure that agency activities and operations are in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws; establish systems to regularly and systematically evaluate and measure the results of programs and services. Oversee and ensure compliance with the standards of accreditation by the Council on Accreditation. Maintain, manage and develop contracts with public and private entities.
Public Relations and Advocacy: Serve as a respected, visible and influential leader in the community ensuring the agency and its mission, programs and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image; interface regularly with other community organizations, key constituent groups, county departments, and political leaders.
The Executive Director will be visionary and forward-thinking. This person will have a strong understanding of the child welfare and behavioral healthcare. The successful candidate will have strong business acumen, which will enable this individual to make effective decisions regarding the future and growth of the agency. The ideal candidate should have the capacity to cultivate and maximize county government relationships. The Executive Director will have the ability to look at the changing landscape for potential growth opportunities. The candidate must value relationship building and continue significant fundraising efforts. The Executive Director will have strong analytical skills and will display integrity.
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of leadership experience in the development of human service programs, administration of grant and contract funded programs, and fund development. The successful candidate should have a general knowledge of the regulations governing behavioral health and child welfare agencies. Candidates must have demonstrated leadership skills in creating and managing diverse teams of professionals. Experience developing strategic plans and fiscally sound programs is preferred. While experience in California is preferred, candidates with appropriate experience in other states are also encouraged to apply.
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
